Some of Dubai’s best-known landmarks are designed to be seen from the sea, and this short boat tour is an efficient way to see several of them in one go. In 60 to 90 minutes you leave Dubai Marina and follow the coastline, with a guide or crew pointing out what you are looking at along the way.
The tour begins among the high-rise towers that frame the marina channel, then heads out past the beachfront of Jumeirah Beach Residence and Bluewaters Island. Along the coast you reach Palm Jumeirah, the palm-shaped island whose outer crescent is home to the Atlantis resort. On many routes the boat also continues towards the Burj Al Arab, giving a classic view of its sail-shaped silhouette from the water, depending on time and sea conditions.
Seating is open, so the sea breeze and sun are part of the experience; sunglasses and sunscreen are useful during the day, and late-afternoon departures are popular for softer light and photographs. Life jackets are provided and the crew gives a short safety briefing before departure.
A practical choice for first-time visitors, families and anyone short on time who still wants Dubai’s coastline in their photo album.
