Beyond the towers and highways of the capital, the desert opens into rolling dunes that glow orange in the late-afternoon light. This evening safari takes you there in a 4×4 driven by an experienced desert driver, who will take you over the dunes in a ride that is thrilling but controlled.

After the dune drive there is time to stop on a high ridge to watch the sun go down, a favourite moment for photographs. You can then try sandboarding down a slope, or take a short camel ride for a gentler taste of how the desert was once crossed.

Evening at the camp

As darkness falls, the safari continues at a traditional-style camp with low seating and lanterns. Guests can usually try Arabic coffee and dates, have henna applied or dress in local attire for photos, before a barbecue-style dinner with vegetarian options. Live entertainment such as a tanoura or fire show often follows, then you are driven back to the city.

It is a relaxed introduction to Emirati desert hospitality, well suited to families and groups. Dune driving is not recommended for everyone, so please read the health notes. Send us your date and group size and we will confirm availability and the final price on WhatsApp before any payment.
