MOTIONGATE Dubai is the Hollywood-inspired theme park at Dubai Parks and Resorts, the leisure destination off Sheikh Zayed Road opposite Palm Jebel Ali. Its rides and shows are built around well-known film studios and franchises, so the day feels like stepping onto a series of movie sets.
The park has five zones. DreamWorks Animation is a large indoor area themed to Kung Fu Panda, How to Train Your Dragon, Madagascar and Shrek, which makes it a cool retreat for families with young children. Columbia Pictures brings big-screen action, including a Ghostbusters ride. Lionsgate is the place for thrill-seekers, with The Hunger Games area, the Now You See Me: High Roller spinning coaster and a flying coaster themed to John Wick. Smurfs Village has gentle rides, play areas and a theatre show for little ones, while Studio Central recreates New York streets with shows and photo spots.
Seasonal events
The park reopened on 7 October 2026 after a closure that began in March. Its annual Halloween event, Fright Nights, runs from 7 October to 8 November 2026 with horror experiences based on SAW and The Strangers that are not suitable for young children.
