SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi describes itself as the world’s largest indoor marine-life theme park, and it combines marine habitats, rides and live presentations in a single climate-controlled building. It is the first marine-life theme park in the Middle East and makes a calm, educational contrast to the thrill parks nearby.
The park is arranged into eight immersive realms. One Ocean is the central hub, while Endless Ocean holds a huge multi-species aquarium. Abu Dhabi Ocean focuses on the Arabian Gulf’s own wildlife and the UAE’s seafaring past, Tropical Ocean features dolphins and tropical birds, and the polar areas recreate the Arctic and Antarctic for penguins and other cold-water species. MicroOcean shows the smallest sea life and Rocky Point is home to sea lions.
Alongside the habitats there are more than 15 rides and interactive experiences, including a coaster that runs past marine exhibits and immersive multimedia attractions. Add-on animal encounters, VIP experiences and guided behind-the-scenes tours are sold separately by the park.
