The Green Planet

The Green Planet recreates a tropical rainforest inside a glass bio-dome at City Walk. More than 3,000 plants and animals share the space, arranged from the dark forest floor up to the sunlit canopy, so the visit becomes a gentle climb through the layers of a real jungle ecosystem.

From forest floor to canopy

Your route begins among the Creatures of the Night and the Flooded Rainforest, home to fish and aquatic life, then rises through The Forest Floor and The Mid-story before reaching The Canopy, where free-flying birds and sloths are often spotted among the branches. Staff stationed throughout are happy to explain the animals and their habitats, and children can let off steam on the Adventure Trail and in the soft-play area, subject to height, weight and footwear rules.

Closer encounters

For a more hands-on visit, the park offers optional paid encounters with animals such as sloths, armadillos, anteaters, porcupines, sugar gliders, birds and reptiles, as well as special programmes like Zookeeper for a Day and weekend rainforest camping. These are booked separately and have limited spaces.

The Green Planet is currently open daily from 10am to 6pm, with last gate tickets sold at 5pm. Infants under 2 enter free, and a day pass includes up to three hours of free parking at City Walk.
