The National Aquarium Abu Dhabi at Al Qana is home to more than 46,000 animals and is widely described as the largest aquarium in the Middle East. Opened in 2021 on the waterfront between the Grand Mosque and the city’s mainland districts, it takes visitors on a journey through very different worlds under one roof.
The route moves through themed zones that recreate habitats from around the globe. Ocean galleries bring you face to face with sharks, rays and shoals of reef fish, while the Arabian Gulf displays highlight the marine life found right on the UAE’s doorstep. Steamy jungle sections introduce reptiles and other rainforest residents, and Arctic exhibits offer a chilly contrast. Feeding times are scheduled through the day, adding extra moments to watch the animals up close.
For a more memorable visit, the aquarium offers add-on experiences such as reptile, ocean, jungle and Arctic animal encounters, a capybara experience and diving for qualified guests, with packages ranging from the standard Aquarium Journey to All Access and VIP options. The aquarium is also involved in wildlife rescue and education programmes, which younger visitors often find fascinating.
Open daily until late, it works well as a cool indoor plan on a warm afternoon or an evening outing combined with dinner at Al Qana’s waterfront restaurants. Let us know which ticket type and date you prefer, and we will confirm availability and your final price on WhatsApp before any payment.
